Overview
The EC flashing kit is a set of tools for external flashing and debugging the EC firmware on NovaCustom laptops, intended primarily for programmers and hackers. The kit can recover an EC from a bad flash, read debug logs from the EC, and flash any firmware irrespective of the state of the current firmware.
Important note: The 24P FFC FPC in this kit requires additional soldering of the “pin header” and the “24-pin 0.5mm pitch top-contact FPC SMT Connector” (this element is only needed to connect the NV4x). If you prefer to have this component pre-soldered before shipment, please select the option below.

The EC flashing kit is a tool for externally flashing and debugging the EC firmware on NovaCustom laptops, inteded primarily for programmers and hackers. The kit can recover an EC from a bad flash, read debug logs from the EC, and flash any firmware irrespective of the state of current firmware.

- an Arduino Mega 2560 Rev3 original board or Atmega 16U2 replacement
- a 24-pin FFC cable with a 1.0mm pitch, same-sided
- a 24-pin FFC breakout board with a 1.0mm pitch FFC connector and a 2.54mm pitch pin header
- USB-A to USB-B cable to connect the Arduino to the host
- USB-A to USB-C cable for grounding
- a 24-pin 0.5mm pitch top-contact FPC SMT Connector
- FFC / FPC Cable, 24 Core, 0.5 mm, same-sided, 6 ", 152 mm
